  A showreel is a short video showcasing a person's previous work and experience. When creating a showreel, you should remember to -  Keep it short - in this case less is more, include your best work to present yourself in the highest standard Think about the audience - Consider will the content appeal to those who will be viewing it Ask for feedback - feedback is always a helpful way of finding out what people like about your work, as well as the parts you could improve on, this way you can improve or make changes before sending it to perhaps an employer Analysing existing showreel's  I believe this is a great example of a student's showreel, for many different reasons. Looking into existing media profiles, I chose two people I look up to in the Media industry and researched into their digital profiles, as well as analysing them, discussing what makes them effective and what I'd like to take from those and add to my website in the future. 

For this task I have conducted research into the current job market, looking at potential vacancies in areas I take interest in when thinking about my future career path. I looked into suitable media companies, such as ITV and BBC, analysing each role and breaking apart what skills are needed, and further action that may be needed when going for the role - travel, etc.  The first job role I looked into was a Journalism Researcher role at the BBC. I decided to look into this role as the requirements are that you should be passionate for working on podcasts, which I think is something which could interest me now and in my future. As well as this, having researched into the company and seeing the content previously produced, the BBC have a large selection of podcasts which take my interest so that I am already passionate for the subject. Looking into the area of the media industry I take great interest in - Journalism. Here I discussed why it interests me, then I looked into the different companies active in Journalism in the UK and the job roles they supply, along with the skills and experience required.

In this powerpoint, I discuss different women in the industry who have inspired me over time, including Greta Gerwig and and Florence Given. As I am undecided on my future career path, I looked into different roles, such as director's and film critics, I could potentially go into in my future. I thought that, while there are a large list of male directors, producers, etc. In the industry, it would be fitting to look at the women who do the same roles, who perhaps don't get as much recognition.  Some other women in the Media industry that inspire me are: Claudia Winkleman -  A lot of us are used to seeing Winkleman on our screens, perhaps presenting shows like Strictly Come Dancing, but despite being a presenter, she is also a journalist and radio personality, as well as a film critic.
